Onion Skin — Principles

An animator's field-guide film for a fictional motion studio. A bouncing ball draws live onion-skin ghosts and frame ticks to explain spacing, two headline lines drop in letter by letter, four principle words are each animated by the principle they name, an easing graph's puck deposits its own spacing ghosts on a strip below, a 16-disc chain trails its head, an anticipation loader compresses then launches, and a role/name lockup closes — all annotated in wavy-arrow margin-note hand style on a pin-marker timeline ruler, with a fully synthesized marimba score and ball-thump foley.

How it works

  1. Build the page: node scripts/build.mjs <sheet.json> --out build.

  2. Optional: node scripts/stills.mjs --build build --at 1,4,6,9,12,15,18 — check each study's frames.

  3. Render: node scripts/render.mjs --build build --out film.mp4 --workers 4.
