Archival Pan & Zoom

A documentary film that only ever shows still photographs, letters and maps: procedural plates graded to one warm monochrome with baked vignette, grain and scratches, a camera already moving at every cut that pushes in on a detail or pans along a route, one faded-red ring annotation, restrained serif captions, and a fiddle lead over felt-piano rolls and roomtone — synthesized from the same cue list.

Archival Pan & Zoom

Render a documentary film that only ever shows still photographs, letters and maps: procedural plates are graded to one warm monochrome with baked vignette, grain and scratches, and a camera that is already moving at every cut pushes in on a detail, pans along a route or pulls back for context. One faded-red annotation per film (a hand-wobbled ring or underline), restrained serif captions over a darkened band, and a fiddle lead with scooped onsets and vibrato over felt-piano chord rolls and a roomtone floor — all synthesized from the same cue list.

How it works

  1. npm install inside the Skill folder, then build.mjs → validate + assemble the page.

  2. stills.mjs for a contact sheet; check the anno ring lands on its detail and shots stay in motion at cuts.

  3. render.mjs → film.mp4, verified by ffprobe + a full ffmpeg decode.
