Iris Descent
Zoom endlessly through nested circular worlds drawn by code: each aperture opens into the next, and the last opens back into the first.
An endless zoom through nested circular worlds drawn by code: each world's central aperture opens into the next at a constant speed, and the last one opens back into the first, so the film loops with no visible seam.
How it works
Create the project: the brief is checked and turned into a depth plan and a timeline
Check stills, the loop seam, every world handoff and the zoom speed
Render the loop and check the film
Frequently asked questions
Is this a video model?
No. Every frame is drawn by code from your brief: four world templates (ornament plate, growth rings, folded blades, seed spiral) with your palettes, apertures and captions. The same brief always renders the same film.
Can I add my own kind of world?
Within the four templates you choose symmetry, motifs, ring styles, blade counts, seed layouts, palettes and motion. A different kind of world needs a new template in the runtime code; the brief alone cannot add one.
What do I need?
Node.js 22+, Chrome and FFmpeg, with HyperFrames 0.8.30 run through npx. No GPU is needed: a 30-second 1080p loop rendered in about two to two and a half minutes with --software on a 10-core laptop. The films are silent by design.
