Ukiyo-e Block Print Scroll

A scroll of ukiyo-e woodblock prints pulled through a viewing window: each bordered view is stamped in misregistered colour blocks (blue, sky, green, red, key) that slide into registration with baren rub and paper grain, then a vertical cartouche and red seal drop in while the camera holds and slides to the next print — scored by a fully synthesized pluck/xylo/piano track.

Ukiyo-e Block Print Scroll

How it works

  1. Write the camera: a small (t,S)=>({x,z,cx}) function that holds on each print and slides one slot over; add foley beats for the transitions.

  2. Score it: sections tile the timeline at a bpm/key, instrument parts (pluck, xylo, piano…) carry patterns per section; block stamps and seals emit their own foley.

  3. Run scripts/build.mjs to bake the sheet into a self-contained HTML page, check every print with scripts/stills.mjs, then scripts/render.mjs captures the deterministic page and muxes the synthesized score to MP4.
