Beam Reach: A Windsurfing Physics Display

Sail a windsurfer on the points of sail, in one small offline HTML file: sheet in and out, rake the mast to steer, shift stance, hike out, drop the daggerboard and hook into the harness. Apparent wind, planing and foiling are real states, a balance meter keeps you upright, and three guided demos sail themselves. Procedural waves, rider rig, spray and synthesized audio.

Beam Reach: A Windsurfing Physics Display

Bring the water and the wind model, the rig and the handling, and optionally the points-of-sail set, the HUD, the demos and the UI text. The Skill returns a downloadable Skill (the windsurfing sim project, a customize guide, headless verification) and one playable example session.

How it works

  1. Your coding agent copies the working game and follows the customize guide: sail trim and apparent wind, stance, hiking, daggerboard and harness states, planing and foiling, and the synth audio.

  2. The published example is a physics display, not a racer: sheeting and rake build apparent wind, stance and hiking move the balance meter, and planing and foiling are real states, with three guided demo tours.

  3. The game is played headlessly under the sandbox policy: start, underway, a bear-away and a tack, the three wind states, stance, daggerboard and harness, a demo run and a phone session.

Frequently asked questions

Does it call a model or need a key?

No. The Skill gives your agent a working game, a customize guide and verification; the game itself makes no network calls and calls no model.

Why is the demo sandboxed?

The frame has an opaque origin and no network access, so the scene can’t read anything from this page or reach the internet.

Is the game bilingual?

The page is bilingual; the game’s own UI text is in English.

What are the visuals and audio made of?

All of it is code: three.js waves, a procedural rider rig and spray, and WebAudio synthesis for wind and water. No image, font or audio files ship with it.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes: trim, steer and hike are on-screen segment controls. Verified under touch emulation, not on real devices.

Why is there no online generation?

Building a new scene needs a model key inside the sandbox, which the backend doesn’t support yet. Run the Skill with your own agent for now.
