Ember Drift: A Lava-Tube Maze Run Against the Heat
Roll a glowing ember through a seeded basalt lava-tube maze, in one offline HTML file: gather every shard to charge the exit vent, then reach it before the heat timer runs out. Finishing grades the run in one to three stars and opens a bigger maze; running out cools the ember and ends the run. A corner minimap shows the maze, the shards and the vent; keyboard and touch both play.
Bring the theme, the rolling hero and the maze look, and optionally maze size, shard count, timer, physics feel and HUD text. The Skill returns a downloadable Skill (the maze-game project, a customize guide, headless verification) and one playable example run.
How it works
Your coding agent copies the working game and follows the customize guide: palette and mood, maze size and growth, shards and the vent, timer and star grades, HUD and minimap, camera, physics.
Each maze is carved by a recursive backtracker from the level seed, so every corridor connects and there is always a way to the vent.
The game is played headlessly under the sandbox policy: start, a roll, a shard, the dark and the charged vent, a cleared level, the results card, the next level, a timeout, the minimap, Chinese text and a phone run.
Frequently asked questions
Does it call a model or need a key?
No. The Skill gives your agent a working game, a customize guide and verification; the game itself makes no network calls and calls no model.
Why is the demo sandboxed?
The frame has an opaque origin and no network access, so the scene can’t read anything from this page or reach the internet.
Can I lose?
Yes. When the heat timer reaches zero the ember cools out and the run ends; Astray itself could not be lost.
Where does it come from?
It is built on Astray by wwwtyro (public domain, Unlicense). Its maze generator, rolling feel, camera follow and growing mazes are wwwtyro’s work. We added the ember and lava-tube look, the shards and charged vent, the timer and star grades, the results and fail cards, the HUD and minimap, touch controls and the Chinese UI, and replaced its renderer, physics, input and textures.
Does it work on mobile?
Yes: drag anywhere to roll. It has been verified under touch emulation, not on real devices.
Why is there no online generation?
Building a new scene needs a model key inside the sandbox, which the backend doesn’t support yet. Run the Skill with your own agent for now.
